Slant Six Meet & Car Show, South S.F. Bay Area, Alviso, California (San Jose, CA)

This annual SL6 car show is held around the last Sunday in September, for 2003, the event falls on Sunday October. 5th. 2003

For the last several years we have held the meet in the small town of Alviso, CA in the parking lot of their so-called "Marina".

Alviso is a small, below sea level township of North San Jose, right at the Southern tip of the San Francisco Bay , where two large

rivers empty-in. Alviso's Marina has long since "silted-in" and today is all marsh land. Trapped between the bay on one side and

"Silicon Valley" on the other, Alviso is an interesting place to visit. . . especially when all the SL6 cars show-up at the old Marina!

We usually get 60 to 80 cars at this "meet" and many more "onlookers", who come by to just visit. The "car show" has evolved

into a SL6 social and informal swap session more then anything else. You can always count one seeing some good old A-Bodies.

Your can also count on seeing some "special" SL6 stuff, like this 4 WD SL6 powered 64 Barracuda. Basically a fun bunch of folks,

meet-up at an interesting place and look at some cool cars, even some non-SL6 powered Mopars have been known to pop-up.

So if you find yourself in San Jose, California - USA on the last weekend in Sept. / first Sunday in October, take a drive-out to Alviso for a look. If you love to fly and touchdown at San Jose Airport, (SJC) hop a cab and tell the driver to go north on Lafayette St. until he runs into the bay marsh. (about 15 minutes out of town from the airport) You will see us just before you hit the mud! - DD
